Welcome to WIZA
Whidbey Island Zymurgy Association or WIZA was established on August
25, 2011 and we are dedicated to sharing and spreading the knowledge
and art of home brewing.
Purpose of WIZA
- The purpose of the Whidbey Island Zymurgy Association (WIZA)
shall be the practice and study of the art, science and history
of brewing and fermenting beer and mead. The WIZA will also promote
the gathering, dissemination, and perpetuation of facts and knowledge
of this science. The WIZA will serve as a forum for education, research
and experimentation. This will be key to exploring technology and
techniques that lead to a greater appreciation of variety and quality.
- Membership will of course involve the consumption of samples
which will allow for examination of various styles of home brewed
beverages for the purposes of competition, evaluation, feedback
and problem solving.
- We will be advocates for the responsible consumption of beverages
containing alcohol. The WIZA will make every effort to detour the
operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol by any
member or by any participant in any club event, or the provision
of alcoholic beverages to minors.
- It is policy of the WIZA to brew and consume beer strictly for
education and fun. Under no circumstances does the WIZA support
or condone in any manner the sale or barter of any home brewed beer.
The purpose of this society is an educational non-profit, namely
to provide a medium for interested persons over the age of 21 to
learn about, share information on, and develop skills in responsible
brewing methods in the home environment.

Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.
