We don't get many questions. I guess this should be called the infrequently asked questions page.
Q: When does WIZA meet?
A:
WIZA meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Q: Do I have to brew beer to be a
member?
A: No. All you need is a desire to learn about how good
beer is made.
Q: What if I don't like beer?
A: Homebrewing for us means all kinds of fermentation, like wine, cider, mead, perry, cyser, pickles, and more!
Q: Does it cost money to join?
A: Yes, WIZA does have annual membership dues. The funds are used for a number of purposes,
including operating expenses like insurance and web hosting, stocking merchandise like T-shirts and sampling glasses,
growing and maintaining an inventory of brewing resources and equipment, and buying ingredients for club brew days.
Q: What are the advantages of membership?
A: Primarily, WIZA members get to sample, share, and learn with some excellent local homebrewers.
WIZA members get discounts at Whidbey Island Homebrew and Wicked Teuton Brewing,
and have access to club-owned brewing equipment and resources.
Members also participate in club events like brew days, tours, and guest speakers.
Q: Do I have to grow a beard?
A: Yes. No.
Q: I have more questions, where can I learn more?
A: You can contact us through email,
on facebook,
on the club forums,
by calling the number on this page,
or visit Whidbey Island Homebrew's store in Oak Harbor.
